Next year, Amsterdam will be celebrating its 750th anniversary. This special year was kicked off this weekend with an impressive opening concert at the Ziggo Dome. Under the direction of the Metropole Orchestra, artists performed the musical story of the city, ranging from classics to contemporary hits.

Musical journey through Amsterdam’s history

The concert brought together a mix of established names and new stars on one stage. Artists like André Hazes, Joost van Bellen, S10, René Froger and Donnie performed alongside the Metropole Orchestra. Dance performances supported the artists as they guided the audience through Amsterdam’s cultural history.

LED screens bring the city to life

The stage design was characterized by an extensive use of LED, over 485 m². A large LED backdrop screen was installed, featuring ROE Black Quartz 4.6 panels. Three large LED crosses, representing the coat of arms of Amsterdam, were suspended above the stage and set in motion, showcasing both vibrant visuals and historical images of the city. For these crosses, ROE Vanish V8T panels were used.
